(covered employers are required to post this in their workplace)

On July 24, 2009 the federal minimum wage increased to $7.25 per hour. By law, the state minimum wage rate must also increase to $7.25 per hour from the current rate of $7.05 per hour. Employers that have a gross income of $500,000 or more must pay employees the new state minimum wage rate of $7.25 effective July 24, 2009. Tipped employees must be paid half of the state minimum wage rate, but if the tipped employee does not make up the other half of the minimum wage in tips, the employer is required to pay the difference.
